~ Week 1
Introduction:
We (Tini, Thasleema, bhavana,Jibin and I) began our internship at Government Higher secondary school, Kulathummael from 12 August 2024. Govt. HSS is a big school with about 5 division per grade and up to 35 students per class. The student population is bigger and they need so much attention and need more staffs. The school environment is actually positive vibed and reassuring to us as we first went in. Our Head Master and our senior teachers were welcoming to us and helpful from the very beginning, providing proper instruction and oversight. I got both 8th and 9th classes to be controlled and to take classes.
Day 1: 12 August 2024
I went prepared to teach both VIIIth and XIth as per my lesson plan. I only had class on VIIIth on 5th period per the time table. I covered the introduction part of the new chapter THE POLYGONS. I used an Concept Attainment Model lesson plan to covey the concepts in which the students are divided into 8 groups and then they are asked to fill the activity cards to come to the concept by their own. They concluded with the examples that polygons and closed figures made up of straight lines. The students were engaged and asked fot clarifications and tons of follow up questions.
We were tasked with managing discipline if any class was left free. And I had that duty for 4 periods. We didnt enough time to sit, and plan lessons for the next day.
We also have to help with noon meals, going forward and we need to took duties in different wings to ensure proper manners among the students.
At the end of the day some among us are assigned to the SREDHA class where the students who need more attention were taught the basics of maths, languages and so on
Day 2: 13 August 2024
I had period for 9th class 5th period and started teaching the Chapter MULTIPLICATION IDENTITIES actually it is the continuation of the class 8 IDENTITIES so the students are clear about the topic anyway we just recalled the learned facts and move to the new topic to find the product of two sums using constructivist model.
I had the duty of distributing noon meals and the wing duty. And had got 3 periods of substitution in other division of 8,9 and 10
Day 3: 14 August 2024
I was delighted on this day by the students in VIIIth on 2nd period actually very quickly picking up the process of Concept Attainment Model and actually understanding about the polygons and in the second class I taught them about the SUM OF INNER ANGLES OF ANY N SIDED POLYGON.
We all helped with noon meals and had wing duties.
Independance Day : 15 August 2024
Principal of the school Raising the National Flag
We had the charge to report on the 15th of August for the independance day celebrations in the school. So, the four of us did. At 8.30 am the students had a rally to the kattakada junction and returned to the school. And after that hosted the flag and various cultural programs are conducted and patriotic songs are sung by students and the management arranged food for the students and after that wet leave the school.
Day 4: 16 August 2024
I went on to teach the word problems regarding the PRODUCT OF SUMS in the IXth on the 7th period.
I had to control noise in 9th division A for the 6th period.
I had duty noon meals and wing duty.

Day 5: 19 August 2024
It's the first day of the 2nd week. Today I Went to VIIIth to teach OUTER ANGLES in the 5th period. Students were keep surprising me asking interesting questions.
I got 4th, 8th period substitution for 10 th students and got noon meals duty and wing duty.
Day 6: 21 August 2024
I had 6th period at 9th and taught the new topic Special Operations and teach them the principle regarding number can be proved using algebra and did some word problems.
I got the duty of noon meals and
After the noon meal, got duty in the wings to control the behaviour of the students.
Day 7: 22 August 2024
The planned lesson was an Normal LP on the problems related to the OUTER ANGLES OF ANY POLYGON in VIIIth in 5th period. I asked the students to figure out the questions in the textbook excercises and helped them to solve that and provide the some questions as home work. Students were proactive in engaging with the problem and they constructively solved the problem with cooperation and dedication. It was an incredible sight to see students learn for themselves. I felt confident in just being a facilitator to these students on occasion. They did it fast enough for me to explain a lot about their thought process and maths problem solving skills.
There is no substitution period since all the teachers are present this day.
I had to do noise control for the last period in the 8th class division B.

Day 8: 23 August 2024
We had conducted YOGA DAY in the morning session. Our PT teacher is supportive through out the decision.I taught them Naukasana .
In a 7th period, I went to teach SPECIAL OPERATIONS in the chapter 4 for IXth students. And taught them to construct algebraic expression and how they became an identity which satisfies every such cases.
I got a substitution period in 3rd and 6th period in 8 D
Conclusion
We spent the first two weeks getting to know the students and learning how to teach. We helped with everything and attended meetings. It was hard work, but also rewarding. The students are smart and challenging, but we're learning how to manage them and find our own teaching style.
Suggestions
I need to check the resources such as the scale, protractor, compass that could be used in the whiteboard and blackboard.
I think I could give some more application level to the students.
I think I could conduct some competitive exams for the students.
